with all the revelations about the going-ons at the NFC, it is sad that the relevant authorities are not doing anything, sadder still is the fact that a previous PM, the current PM and DPM and a potentially future PM, have all said that it is ok. what does the future hold for malaysia??? not my battle, but very very sad.

WALKING

I AM NOW walking around quite freely, alhamdulillah. the main improvement being that i do not feel like falling down, so i am increasing my walking around to 6 20 minute sessions a day, at6.30am, 8.30am,10.20am, 12.30pm,2,30pm, 4,30pm. inshaallah there should be some substantial improvement.

elections

there is a saying that we get the leaders we deserve. how true is this ?. do we in malaysia deserves the rubbish that we have had so far???. do we deserve leaders whose main interest are lining their own pockets?. surely not??. we, malaysians, deserve better. when will we have leaders who can truly lead us, take care of us and provide for us?. when???. when can we have someone close to our prophet mohammad???. had mustapha hussain not lost to tengku and tun, would malaysia had been a better country?. only god knows. therein lies the rub. as a muslim, i firmly believe that ALLAH arranges everything , whatever was arranged was for our own good. i hold on irrevocably to this. only cannot help but ask what good is a government and leaders who endorse such blatant abuse of power as happened in the case of the NFC.is it good that rgt 250 million is wasted ?. rgt 250 million that could have been better utilised to reduce poverty, stimulate entrepreneurship, provide cheaper education, healthcare!!!why, why, why???
what is good about rgt 250 million spent to provide luxurious comfort to just 1 political family?. good for that family, of course!, but what about the other millions of malaysians who are trying very very hard to make a living???. the alternative?. nah!!!!!, privatise the government, i say.

i have now reached page 114 of dr jomos memoirs of encik mustapha hussain, titled MALAY NATIONALISM BEFORE UMNO. great reading so far, i hasten to judge it the best book in english about malaysia that i have read to date. would definitely recommend it to all, including especially UMNO members. will update regularly

a malay wedding

the average malay wedding has come a long way:-
where previously,
1. elders were seated at the main table, it is not unusual now to have a dato titled guest as the VIP, there being so many dato's now that it would not be difficult to get 1 to attend .
2. the venue would be chock a block with vehicles, now one can always round up a few RELA guys with the promise of an allowance.
3. you just have a sombre doa selamat, now you have at least a passable PA system.
4.door gifts of an egg in a very simple manila card holder, now they are replaced by a few titbits in a gift bag.
5. the food would always never escape being the topic of conversation thereafter and would in most instances be quite delicious.

i think i got it figured out now, the way to go is walk as much as possible, transfer the strain energy generated by walking to the muscles in the leg first, then to the hand, this energy will in turn wakeup and allow the muscles to generate movements to the extremities of both limbs, overtime , the muscles should be primed, thereafter it would be a matter of repetition so as to allow the muscles and the brain to coordinate harmoniuosly, thus closing the loop in the mind and body that would, inshaallah, generate the automaticity in the limbs, hence , it is going to be a long journey, so beltup, maybe 2 more years. so forget about bomohs and doctors and tukang urut would be just to ease the pain, supplication to ALLAH would be the main focus, aided by supplements. inshaallah

impatience

the lack of patience was my achillies heel, either impatient with my first employer, petronas, or in executing my projects when i was a contractor, or in my personal life. all these acts of impatience was to cost me dearly. thus my current education in patience is very timely and would be the best for me. as in every learning, it is painful, but i must see the trees beyond the forest and look at the light beyond the horizon, alhamdulillah

every day, i am still plodding on in my stroke recovery effort.walking in my compound and house, just ignoring the muscle pain and pushing as hard as i can. certain days despair sets in, then it is time to vary my walking route in the believe that change will offset the boredom and despair. i cannot give up, must continue my established routine till either i suffer some debilitating injury, die or inshaallah more recovery.
alhamdulillah, my walking effort now seems easier and there are some minor stirrings in my affected leg. again, patience seems the key. i am now utterly convinced that this stroke is a gift from ALLAH in teaching me patience. i must have been a very very impatient person before this necessitating allah interference towards building me into a better person. alhamdulillah. i can now see the virtues of patience. it is a much more valuable weapon than a nuclear bomb.prestroke, i was in the construction industry for ten years, where speed is the essence and i was prone to be proud of how many pipes i can lay a day. so, learning and accepting the virtues of patience is very very hard the slow lumbering ways of the kampung folks, although extremely frustrating, has an upside. these folks know patience or has patience afflicts them due to their station??. since young, the saying that patience is half of faith, has been reverberating within my sphere. only now can i truly understand it's significance thus, patience is now my weapon.i must learn and grasp it .

instant maggi noodle

bless whoever invented instant noodles, some japanese guy i believe. thanks to instant noodles, i now do not go hungry at lunch and dinner time when madness afflicts my wife and she refuses to cook , alhamdulillah

lunch and dinnerless

for sure now, my so-called wife has abandoned her responsibilities to me and the chldren. many a day we go without either breakfast, lunch or dinner, even after money was given to her to buy groceries.it begs the question of who chased away the maid, bibit. it was her in a moment of madness.ya allah, why???

reaching 55

well, i made it to 55 today, alhamdulillah. there are millions who never reach 55. i am feeling lucky, inshallah , i hope to make it to at least 65.

progress

alhamdulillah, yesterday, 25th. sept 2011 is a major milestone, as i had lunch and dinner at home, the first sunday in a long long time that meals were available at home.
the day inauspiciously began joltingly for me, as after my morning walk whilst resting at the cafe i had a feeling that my limbs were just dangling from my frame, no tension, nothing at all, totally relaxed. nevertheless, i continued my daily walking regime and surprise, surprise, my walking seems easier.alhamdulillah so what happened and what was that tensionless feeling, OLD AGE????

credit to the government and especially KKLW for organising this fair for all those budding usahawan. personally, i am disappointed that the much anticipated government incentive is a meagre rgt 50 million.whilst we unnecessarily splash billions on submnarines, a new palace, etc. why such a small allocation. entrepreneurs are the soul of a nation, it is through their dreams and struggles that a nation marks itself, in the onwards march to development .should be rgt 1 billion, in my opinion.

recovery - update

it has been a long time since my last posting. alhamdulillah, i am still alive, still struggling hard to recover, but i have given up on the ceragem and limited my teraphy to prayers and supplications to allah and walking around.i can now walk around with a limp, like a zombie, step by painful step.nevertheless, there is progress, syukur alhamdullilah to ALLAH for granting me these minute improvements. by way of measurement, it now takes me only around 8 to 10 minutes to walk to the cafe where before it took me 15 minutes.my target is now 5 minutes by the end of this year, inshaallah. still no improvement in my affected left hand, though

another lunchless day

my haj

regretfully, i have had to postpone my haj for various reasons, but primarily, i had been misled by tabung haji travel whose officials had earlier assured of my eligibility to go. subsequently to my disappointment,and a slight relief, i was told that my eligibility is only in 2013. see, even though TH travel is part of tabung haji,haj eligibility is still controlled by tabung haji, just that if one take a THtravel package, ones chances of jumping the queue is good, leaving open opportunities for abuse.therein lies the human failure in the tabung haji system inspite of all their good work. i am looking at the positive side of this setback:-
1. i am not physically ready to go to haj and have another approx. 700 days to enhance my recovery. alhamdulillah.
2. inshallah, the much talked about improvement in the HAJ INFRASTRUCTURE should be more established by 2013.
3. my tabung haji savings is a great safety net for my current cashflow predicament.
4. inshaallah, all the outstanding earthly matters will resolve itself by oct 2013, allowing me to go with a peace of mind.

what a stupid excuse, losses due to increase in raw materials cost. the ceo should be sacked as tenaga is a monopoly and any cost variances should have been easily hedged against. sack him and get a chinaman to run it. pathetic, wakeup khazanah!!!!!!

stroke anniversary

it has been 6 years since stroke afflicted me on 2nd. feb. 2005 , 6 years of numerous courses in life courtesy of allah. alhamdulillah, i am still alive, recovery has been very very slow, nevertheless lots of things to look forward to.

my stroke recovery

i have not blogged for a long time as i am now focused on my SCM business which should take off sometime in august. in the meantime, i have continued with my walking exercises, whilst i have stopped the ceragem teraphy, as my walking exercise is more fun and i feel, much more effective. there is still a long way to go, but alhamdulillah, everyday i can feel this minute progress in my affected leg.

government should not be doing business, but set business policies. government in business is a sure recipe for disasters and failure as there is no check and balance

morning show cartoons

early every morning there are two types of cartoon morning shows on all the local tv channel. the real one, scooby dooo, tmnt,etc. but the best ones are the adult cartoon shows , politicians, government servants, ustaz.ustazah, so-called experts who have badly let the people down and most disgusting of all, peddlers of instant beauty and health products which had never been appropriately trialled in accordance with best practices.

old friends

an old friend, madam nani. i am very lucky to have a friend like nani, we grew up together in mersing whilst in our early primary schooling, she was the upstairs girl, a privilege background and i was the downstairs boy, we parted ways when i was in standard 4, kept barely in touch and then met up regularly in my early career in kuala lumpur as we were both in the oil and gas industry. then,out of the blue a few days she smsed and we met again last saturday night, after all these years, a friend from ones past is always a treasure, shared journeys etc. this friendship is definitely good for me and i look forward to meeting her again, as she had promised as we parted ways that night. what a lady!!!

lyanne cafe challenge trophy

alhamdulillah, last night, lyanne cafe was jam-packed, for the first round of the lyanne cafe karaoke competition challenge trophy. what a night!. the finals shall be on the 28th. may together with the chamnpions league final. am expecting a full house till 5 am.

it is the loneliness, stupid, this is the killer, not the sex, i can always have oral sex, ie. i just think and talk about it.

sore muscles, ligaments

last wednesday i had 2 teeth taken out and another 1 on friday, thats 3 rotten teeth out, looks like i may need a denture. since the first extraction, i have had a mild fever and my affected muscles and ligaments have been flaring up, sorely painful. it is a good healing sign a few more days it should go away. inshaallah

abandoned - again

the cause of our current conflict is her demand for money, which i have refused to entertain. my obligation as a husband is to provide her with food and accomodation,i.e. messing. as for clothing, she has more than enough clothing to dress the entire town of probolinggo. so why want money more????

haj- out of stupor

like a runaway train, the realisation that i may yet, inshaallah, perform my haj this year, today yanked me out of my mental preoccupation with trying to recover from my stroke, my trials and tribulations with my other half, and my nascent cafe and logistics and roti lempeng business. ya allah, i may yet,inshaallah, be in mecca for wuquf this november. could this be my last chance to redeem my life??? i must now focus on this journey 101% prepare myself mentally and physically in all manners that i am able to

a very terrible and lonely saturday for me. death of my golfing idol, seve ballasteros and the mother of my closest friend now, adnan. still no sign of my other half. am listening all day to koran recitals in my efforts to calm down and fend myself against stresses

after 4 months, the roti lempeng business has now attained a momentum of it
's own and inshaallah very soon it would lift off into the stratosphere. demand has been good.

merajuk- (sulking???). why is it that this most off-putting of human characteristic is so prevalent among women and old folks???. the drinksmaker at lyanne cafe threw a tantrum the other night because i had hired an additional waitress to smoothen the process of serving my clients. among speculated reasons are:-
1. she is having her period.
2. she is jealous of competition for the position of chief cafe officer(but there is no such position, i am the only chief, the BIG CHIEF)
3. she haven't got laid for a long time.
4. don't know.,

human resource is the biggest problem in running lyanne cafe, turnover is very high. i now have a very very accomodating supervisor, rini, a tireless worker in pak nur who reminds me of mohd noor mansor from RMC days, the new waitress, ziela and two school going boys who were always hanging around helping, and the husband and wife team of bunor/fera , thats 7 in total , except that fera is just lounging around in the evening and works mainly in daytime together with another indonesian helper, kak siti. this is my team, the lyanne team.

lyanne cafe - drained

old age sucks, yesterday, i was so physically drained that by 9pm. i could hardly open my eyes thus disabling my ability to have any decent conversation with my saturday night clients, saturday night being our busiest night as there is hardly any other entertainment venue within Kampung Pulau Meranti. hence . Lyanne Cafe is emerging as the premier, and perhaps, only entertainment outlet here, the population here enjoying a night out to unwind. it is perhaps not of the intensity of john travolta's SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER, just a quiet night out viewing and listening to young punks beltintg out mostly INDONESIAN DANGDUTS accompanied by some very very nice affordable dishes and a steaming hot coffee or tea, liquor definitely being a no,no. kampung herelah.a long long way from the ROYAL LAKE CLUB OR JALAN SULTAN ISMAIL. but for the folks here it still beats an early night under the"kelambu",just barely, i think.

with the election looming, i must now position LYANNE CAFE to exploit the enormous election bounty that will surely come in this titanic fight between BN and PR for control of selangor.

one of the landowners comically put on a show by extending his arm and pointedly referring to putrajaya or serdang. the implication being that if the developer does not buck-up, he will take matters in his hand and ensure that the developer ends up either in putrajaya or serdang hospital. mercifully, for the developer that is, it was this landowner who ended up in the ICU in a private hospital, having suffered some sort of health complications due to the anxiety and stresses of his exertions. what a world???. jaguh kampung at work again!!!!!1

lyanne cafe - drained

after almost 4 months of lyanne cafe opening , i am physically and mentally drained, the biggest culprit being human resources issues, the constant turf war between wannabes bosses and the meneggek (parasiting) characteristic of my target market, and internal sabotage from my other insignificant half.

i now have greater respect for the numerous pakciks and makciks who operates food shop(kedai makan) all over the country. it is hard work, damn hard, worthy of more respect as compared to all those arty-farty so-called entrepreneurs.however, i must stick to my fatwa(edict), that the harder the challenge, the bigger the reward will be. so just as my effort to recover from my stroke, onwards i shall plod in running the cafe.inshaallah, one day there will be a windfall.it is exciting to await and speculate the form that it will take. as the saying goes, god works in mysterious ways and behind every cloud, there is a silver lining, what a wonderful world !!!!!

in 1996, 40 landowners here in kampung pulau meranti. were conned into entering into a joint venture agreement with a chinese developer to develop their land. acting for both parties in a legal capacity was a former UMNO YOUTh chief. talk about berjuang untuk bangsa, pleaase!!!!. with elections looming and UMNO's stated desire of wresting back selangor, various umno factions are now making noises to give the impression that they are very concerned of course about this manipulation by the chinese, poor guy, he was just following the letter of the jv agreement. how will all this end???. with PR activist here being a bunch of inactive bigots, looks to me that the only way this matter will be resolved is if UMNO wins. then the vested interests that have been lying low all this years, should suddenly spring into action. land office officers and bank officers will receive instructions from supposedly high authority to ensure that this project proceeds. therein lies the diference between UMNO AND PR. ONE IS A BUNCH OF OPPORTUNISTS WHILST THE OTHER ARE MERELY BUNGLING NATO(no action, talk only) warriors .poor malaysia, destined to remain in the third world, unless the current unrest in the middle east could somehow trigger the long ago domino theory. who knows???for me, just sit back and maybe there is money to be made here.

in this age of internet speed and instant gratification it is amazing that kampung speed still exists. as the current world superpower tussle and with the emergence of china and india filling in the void left by the USSR in challenging the supremacy of the USA and our leaders obsessions with each others peccadilloes , where would the malays be 10 years from now d by direct inference, malaysia. i wonder??? more on my cafe soon, so hang on tight.

busy, busy

i havent posted for a while as i was busy throughout january getting my lyanne cafe up and running. business has been good with our roti lempeng being a roaring success.
.meanwhile my teraphy had been limited to just walking around and i had largely ignored the ceragem teraphy. next 1 week will be busier as i attempt to get our luncheon and evening serving up and running.
