malaysian government transportation masterplan
at the end of september 2012, the above was issued.amongst the targetted plans are the issue of goods transport into city areas translating into traffic chaos and thus impacting on the quality of life, the recommendation is to limit entry of goods vehicles into city centre by way of establishing goods consolidation centres from where the goods can then be transported into city centres thus ensuring:-
1. goods vehicles into city centres are reduced
2. these vehicles are fully loaded
3. reduction in numbers into city centres.
4. increased LAST MILE EFFICIENCY FOR THE TRANSPORTATION OF GOODS.
5. REDUCED COST OF BUSINESS.
so, it is a good masterplan like many we have seen before. as usual, in malaysia, masterplans always fails at the implementation stage. too much vested interests in hardware, always ignoring the role of software.we shall see
if implemented, elemdee is ideally placed to take off
